Please note, this item is considered a second choice by our factory in France. All seconds are handmade using our usual crafting methods, but with minor glazing or ceramic blemishes, neither of which minimize the quality of performance.

In an effort to minimize our impact on the environment, unglazed items are recycled and the materials reused. For the same reason, we've decided to make our seconds available for purchase at a significant discount.

If you're visiting the Burgundy region of France, you can shop our ceramic seconds in our physical Emile Henry Factory Shop, located in Marcigny. In the U.S., seconds are available online only.

A perfect homemade pie needs to be cooked slowly and evenly without drying out and the secret to a flawless pie is our HR ceramic®. The beauty and performance of our iconic pie dish elevates pie baking from ordinary to extraordinary as it insulates and evenly distributes heat during baking. The graceful ruffled edge on the dish is inspired by vintage French bakeware and simplifies cutting and removing a tidy portion.

Baking tip à la Emile Henry: use butter to grease your dish, add a sprinkling of sugar, and you get a delicious caramelized coating.
